Make this school start special and join Riding the Rainbow’s Back-to-School Campaign

Just in time before the start of the new school year, Riding the Rainbow together with 6 organizations have launched a Back-to-School campaign aimed at supporting refugee families and other vulnerable children.

This initiative will ensure that children and young refugees have the necessary resources and items for a successful start into the new school year.

The goal of this campaign is to distribute pre-loved school items such as backpacks, books, pencil cases, bicycles, and all other items needed for a successful school start for young refugees by using the Riding the Rainbow App. This innovative App acts both as a tool for donors and refugees. It is specially designed to make donations easy and it ensures that more young refugees can benefit from the generosity of the Luxembourg community.

“We are committed to making a difference in the lives of these children,” said Emanuele Santi, founder of Riding the Rainbow and President of Afrilanthropy, one of the charities involved in the Back-to-School campaign. “Our goal is to ensure that every child, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to thrive in school.”

School items are facilitated by using the Riding the Rainbow App. Interested families can first download the App and then simply post a picture of a school item on the Riding the Rainbow App and they will be contacted by a recipient to arrange a mutually convenient place in Luxembourg to hand over the equipment. This way unused items can find a new home supporting young refugee school children in desperate need.

The Riding the Rainbow App also encourages and enables people to connect beyond a donation. It is a one-stop-shop of solidarity, by offering an interactive map of charity organizations and providing instant notifications on charity events and volunteering opportunities.

Riding the Rainbow is run entirely by volunteers. The project received initial support from the Andre Losch Foundation, Oeuvres, and the Ministry of Family and individual contributions. All details and further information about the Back-to-School Campaign can be found at www.ridingtherainbow.com. The project is currently on the quest for private sponsoring and continuous donations to continue delivering impact.

Riding the Rainbow invites everyone to join this journey of hope and inclusion. For more information on how to get involved, visit Riding the Rainbow’s website, Facebook, or Instagram pages.
